[Edit Description]

This is a meta-bookmarklet: it makes it possible to add any bookmarklet to your iPhone or iPod Touch directly, without syncing to a desktop computer running Safari.

1. Save the bookmarklet to your bookmark toolbar.
2. Browse to a page with bookmarklet like this one or any other marklets.com bookmarklet page
3. Click the the bookmarklet, all the bookmarklets on the page will turn yellow.
4. Now click on the yellow links and it will take you to the marklets.com home page but with the bookmarklet code now in the url.
5. Bookmark the page.
6. Edit the bookmark you just saved and delete the "http://www.marklets.com/#". You shoudl have something that starts with "javascript:"
7. Save the changes and you now have that bookmarklet on your iphone!

Sweet! This is a really handy tool for people who use Palm (Treo) Blazer or Opera Mini too. In the past I had used a similar but awkward hack which involved manually editing bookmarks on Delicious, but this works much better. Thanks very much!

The bookmarklet available from the "source" link has been tweaked in a couple of ways to make the experience a bit better. You should use it rather than the bookmarklet posted above.

There's also a great iPhone app that has a pretty big directory of iPhone-optimized bookmarklets, and makes loading them a cinch... WebToolbox http://www.tapfactoryapps.com/WebToolbox/
