In my initial version, I forgot to wrap window.location.href in encodeURIComponent . This is fixed in the version at the Source link, but not here.
works in Firefox, not in Chrome latest dev build brent[at]brentjones.org
It works in my Chrome 188.8.131.52 on Kubuntu. Also, this review ( http://blog.arpitnext.com/2009/12/bookmarklet-for-googl-short-url-firefox-opera-chrome-internet-explorer.html ) says it works in Chrome . Also, the version here now includes the encodeURIComponent .
Hi Matt, what do you think of Keith's comment at Techie-Buzz.com ( http://bit.ly/8X81yM )
Many browsers do allow you to copy the URL from the alert box. However, the prompt option is a good idea, and I've made another bookmarklet ( http://www.marklets.com/Bookmarklets/goo.gl+with+prompt+for+copying.aspx ) along that line.
I can't highlight the resulting url. This is important because I then cannot copy it with a ctrl+c and then paste it someone where else. Am I missing something?
Bcallahan - just replace alert(response.short_url) in the bookmarklet with prompt("Here%20you%20go",response.short_url) and its good for copy and pasting!
Will this work in opera browser? Thank you
